Merz Tastes
Merz Trio’s ongoing project presenting tasting menus of music and food in collaboration with artist chefs
After a successful November pilot in Tallahassee with local chef Hunter Pittman, Merz Trio continued their project in January 2018 alongside Michelin four-star chef David Bouley. Each course invites guests to experience how composers and culinary artists evoke a specific time, place, or memory, either in a piece of music or in a culinary dish. Musical pieces alternate with dining and conversation, as musical and culinary styles converge and provide counterpoint for one another.
In September 2019 at NYC’s Sheen Center, Merz Trio performed and curated an intimate salon of wine tastings paired with poetry and music in collaboration with the sommelier and chef from the W Hotel’s Halifax restaurant.
