The younger sister of famed composer and pedagogue Nadia Boulanger, Lili Boulanger was arguably an even more talented composer and the first woman to win the Prix de Rome in 1913. Much of her work is colored by the early death of her father in 1900 when she was only six. Lili herself lived only to the age of twenty-five, dying in 1918.
“D’un vieux jardin,” (In an Old Garden) is taken from her 1914 set of Three Piano Pieces.
